Steel hex wire deer fencing has small (1") hexagonal openings that provide a secure, chew-proof barrier against deer and other animals—rodents, squirrels, raccoons, foxes, coyotes, etc. It's also a good fence for controlling dogs that like to chew and dig. The UV-resistant, black powder-coating protects the steel wire from harsh weather conditions. The fence is virtually invisible from 20 feet. It has a lifespan of 20-30 years.

• Tenax Maximum Strength C-Flex HD Pro deer wire has a breaking load of 950 lbs. and a life expectancy of 20+ years (add $385.00). This is the strongest and thickest of the three grades and costs about 45% more per roll than C-Flex Select but only about 5% more than Extra Strength C-Flex Premium. It is generally used to enclose a farm or large field—or when deer traffic is particularly aggressive.

Deer fencing is a strong, affordable solution for protecting your yard and gardens from deer damage. Deer fencing is 7½-feet high and securely attached to black pipes, which are cemented in place, or to adjacent trees. Tension wire is strung through the fencing at the top, middle, and bottom for added strength. Ground stakes (J-hooks) secure the bottom of the fencing to the ground.

Tenax "plastic" mesh deer fencing is fabricated from thick, black, rounded tensile strands that resist stretching and sagging and blend into the natural landscape. The fencing is lightweight and virtually invisible from a distance of about 20 feet. Tenax makes three grades of deer wire. All have the same mesh size (1.75" x 2" openings) but different strengths (thicknesses). NOTE: While highly effective for keeping out deer, dogs can bite through "plastic" deer fencing.

• Tenax C-Flex Select deer wire has a breaking load of 650 lbs. and a life expectancy of 10-15 years. This is the least-expensive Tenax C-Flex grade but is considered "heavy duty" and is the one generally used to protect yards and gardens.

• Tenax Extra Strength C-Flex Premium deer wire has a breaking load of 750 lbs. and a life expectancy of 10-15 years. This grade is stronger and thicker than C-Flex Select but costs about 40% more per roll. It is useful for protecting the property line from heavy, consistent deer traffic.
